The following information is provided to explain how our classes operate. It is our commitment to provide a safe training environment for all students. If you have any questions, feel free to ask one of our instructors.
We perform a traditional Tang Soo Do opening and closing ceremony for each class.
Stand at attention and salute the flags (American, Korean, and Association)
Sit for a short period of meditation (students clear their mind to prepare for class)
Bow to Grandmaster (a showing of respect)
Bow to the lead instructor (a thank you in advance for teaching class)
Bow to all other Black Belts (a showing of respect earned by achieving rank)
Repeat the seven tenants of Tang Soo Do (integrity, concentration, perserverance, respect and obedience, self-control, humility, and indomitable spirit).
The closing ceremony is the same as the opening ceremony, except the five codes of Tang Soo Do are repeated instead of the seven tenants (loyalty to country, obedience to parents, honor friendship, no retreat in battle, and in fighting choose with sense and honor).
Hidden Tiger Tang Soo Do
Opening Ceremony:
"The goal you must set must be challenging.
At the same time, it should be realistic and
attainable, not impossible to reach. It should
be challanging enough to make you stretch,
but not so far that you break."
